Even seemingly simple verses require some level of interpretation. The question becomes how to interpret and according to which principles? Much of his teaching is directed at the preacher, but there is plenty of insight to be gleaned by the layperson as well.

Once more. “If I bear witness of Myself, My witness is not true” (John 5:31) “though I bear record of Myself, yet My record is true” (John 8:14). Another pair of opposites!
